Christmas is just around the corner, and the sweet aroma of gingerbread permeates the air. I have seen my fair share of gingerbread houses during the holidays, but none as elaborate as the one featured here. Certified by the Guinness Book of World Records, New York City chef Jon Lovitch created the world’s largest edible gingerbread village. He started the project in February, baking all of the pieces in his tiny Bronx apartment. He kept the spare parts in an extra bedroom before moving them to the New York Hall of Science in Queens for final assembly. The giant gingerbread village contains 152 houses, 65 candy trees, 5 candy trains, and a candy underground subway station. This gingerbread village can satisfy any sweet tooth!
