I recently came across the surrealistic work of young Korean artist, Jee-Young Lee, and thought that I must share her inspiring photography projects with our SweetP readers. Jee-Young is a recent graduate from Seoul’s Hongik University, and the beautiful installations that she produced in her 3.6 x 4.1 x 2.4-meter studio has drawn much attention from the world. To create each of the following whimsical dreamscape images, Jee-Young would spend weeks to build and execute. She draws upon ideas from her childhood memories, dreams, folks and literature. What makes her photos extraordinary is that they have no digital manipulation (i.e. no Photoshop) and are works are her sheer creativity and artistry.
Her photography exhibition titled “Stage of Mind” will be on display at the OPIOM Gallery in Opio, France from 7th February to 7th March 2014. For more of her work, you may visit the Gallery website.
