Have you heard of some people who claim to be able to “hear” colors and “see” music? While impossible to imagine what that realistically means, there is actually scientific truth to this condition known as synesthesia, where one stimulation is simultaneously perceived by more than one sense, for instance, sight and hearing. Synesthesia literally means “joined perception”. Nonetheless, it doesn’t take a synesthete to tell you that music is often and easily associated with colors. Studies show that the association is likely because both music and colors affect emotions, and regardless of culture and gender, light music is oftentimes associated with yellow and orange, while grave music is with blue and grey. Inspired by this beautiful relationship between colors and music, here are some designs that I’m sharing with you today.
